At Shell Plastic Surgery our desire is to provide advanced–yet soothing–solutions for skin exfoliation. In addition to providing our patients with medical grade skincare, we also offer the SilkPeel® Dermalinfusion™ Diamond Tip Dermalinfusion.
Traditional Diamond Tip Dermalinfusion uses aluminum oxide crystals to “sandblast” the most superficial skin layers, unevenly exfoliating the skin and exposing the skin to fine aluminum particles. SilkPeel Dermalinfusion is a crystal-free Diamond Tip Dermalinfusion and is the only treatment of its kind to deliver a topical dermaceutical while evenly exfoliating the skin.
SilkPeel Dermalinfusion is a non-invasive skin rejuvenation procedure. Its novel skin resurfacing technology provides simultaneous exfoliation, evacuation, and the delivery of condition-specific topicals. SilkPeel’s diamond tip handpiece exfoliates damaged skin cells, evenly abrading the top layer of the skin in order to deliver targeted formulations to the epidermis. SilkPeel Dermalinfusion offers advanced skincare for almost every skin type and condition–clarifying solution for acne-prone skin, hydrating solution for dry skin, brightening solution for hyperpigmented skin and Vitamin C solution for damaged skin.
SilkPeel Dermalinfusion is a dynamic facial rejuvenation technique that combines Diamond Tip Dermalinfusion with the simultaneous delivery of patient-specific topical serums, which penetrate deep into the surface of the skin and down to the base of the pores. SilkPeel has become the non-invasive treatment of choice for some of the most common skin conditions. SilkPeel can be used by itself, as a way to optimize your laser treatments or injectable fillers, or as the finishing touch to a facial surgery procedure.
Our Licensed Medical Aestheticians routinely perform SilkPeel Dermalinfusion in the Northern Mississippi plastic surgery office for patients seeking a non-invasive way to achieve younger, vibrant-looking skin in just a few outpatient treatments.
Is SilkPeel Right for Me?
SilkPeel is a safe and effective treatment suitable for all skin types. You may benefit from SilkPeel if you suffer from any of the following conditions:
- Sun-damaged skin
- Fine lines
- Dry, irritated skin
During your personal consultation with one of our licensed medical aestheticians, you will have an opportunity to share your cosmetic goals. With those goals in mind, the aesthetician will examine your skin in order to determine if SilkPeel is the best treatment option available for you.
There are numerous factors to consider before committing to any cosmetic surgery. Below is a list of frequently asked questions associated with SilkPeel:
How does SilkPeel work?
SilkPeel operates on a closed-loop vacuum system. Using a diamond treatment wand, our Licensed Medical Aestheticians will exfoliate your skin while also delivering a customized topical dermaceutical at a controlled intensity. The exfoliation process will stimulate new skin growth and address patient-specific skin conditions. SilkPeel is an outpatient treatment that can be completed in as little as 20 minutes.
SilkPeel Results and Recovery
Immediately following treatment, your skin will have a warm, pinkish glow that should fade within an hour. There is no downtime required, and you should be able to resume social activity right away. You will notice visible results following the first treatment and will achieve optimal results after 4-6 treatments, which are typically spaced one week apart. Our Licensed Medical Aestheticians may also recommend a post-care daily skin routine that will enhance the results of a SilkPeel.
The results of SilkPeel will be long-lasting, but not permanent. Future treatment sessions may be required to maintain results. Following a proper facial skincare routine will increase the probability of long-lasting results. Our Licensed Medical Aestheticians will be able to assist you in designing a personalized skincare routine.
SilkPeel does not require any downtime, and there are very few side effects associated with the treatment. As mentioned earlier, you may experience a slight sunburn redness of the skin, but this typically subsides within a few minutes to one hour after treatment.
